equipment final rule
WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Department of Labor's
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
today announced a final rule on employer-paid personal
protective equipment (PPE).
Under the rule, all PPE, with a few exceptions, will be
provided at no cost to the employee. OSHA
anticipates that this rule will have substantial safety
benefits that will result in more than 21,000 fewer
occupational injuries per year.....

Flash Personal Protective Equipment Kits are available in

These kits contain

Comfo Classic® Half-Mask Respirators
Requiring only routine filter replacement, the Comfo Classic
respirator is approved by the National Institute for
Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for use against a
variety of respiratory hazards. Use MSA Cartridge Service
Life Calculator to establish a cartridge change and
schedule. The mask features new SoftFeel® facepiece
material, which increases the comfort factor dramatically.
Also features a unique face seal design that gives the
wearer an exceptional fit.
Comfo Elite® Half-Mask Respirators
Requiring only routine filter replacement, the Comfo Elite
respirator is approved by the National Institute for
Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for use against a
variety of respiratory hazards. Removes specific
contaminants from inhaled air using chemical cartridges,
aerosol filters or a combination of the two, which are
interchangeable among other MSA twin-cartridge respirators.
The Comfo Elite respirator is available in standard black
silicone, which maximizes comfort, minimizes skin irritation
and is resistant to chemicals and facial oils.
Ultra Elite® Twin-Cartridge Respirators
Requiring
only routine filter replacement, the Ultra Elite
twin-cartridge respirator is approved by the National
Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for use
against a variety of respiratory hazards. Use MSA Cartridge
Service Life Calculator to establish a cartridge change and
schedule. The demand version of the Ultra Elite facepiece
can be used as a twin-cartridge air-purifying respirator for
full-face respiratory protection. The unique lens design
provides a high level of peripheral and downward vision. It
is available in three sizes and has large adjustment tabs
that simplify wear. A choice of two facepiece materials -
SoftFeel Hycar rubber or silicone - enhance wearer comfort.
For improved communication, a speaking diaphragm in front of
the wearer's mouth ensures clear short-range communications.
A nosecup reduces lens fogging.
NOTE: Ultra Elite facepieces must be fitted with a
twin-cartridge adapter if used as a twin-cartridge
respirator.

Designed to fit any of MSA's protective caps or hats. When
properly positioned, they will securely hold faceshields,
visors and welding shields. A durable ring of rubber tubing
holds the plastic adapters securely on the cap or hat while
a metal spring holds the metal brackets in place. The
plastic adapters are non-conducting, and can be worn on
dielectric caps or hats without affecting the headwear's
dielectric qualifications.
Softframe Single Lens Goggles
Meets all applicable requirements of ANSI Z87.1-2003 (High
Impact). Effectively fitting most facial contours, the
large, one-piece, .060-inch thick polycarbonate lens
provides a wide, undistorted field of vision. Optional
anti-fog coated lenses are available for work involving high
humidity, temperature changes or greater worker exertion.
The scratch-resistant coating is unaffected by most organic
solvents, ammoniacal and alkaline detergents.

KUNZ
GLOVE
Lineman's Work Gloves
Kunz work gloves have set the standard for durability and
comfort. Three specially tanned heavy weight (4 oz. plus)
grain leathers are used in the manufacture of Kunz work
glove.
For extra comfort, gloves are sewn in the gunn pattern
with strong nylon thread. Reinforced welted thumb seams and
Davey tips on the fingers give extra wear and prevent seams
from ripping in critical locations. A leather welt at the
base of the fingers gives extra protection for a heavy wear
area.
Slip-on style - A durable glove for almost any
application. The 2" split leather safety cuff has a
reinforcing wrist pad and offers limited arm protection.
Gauntlet style - The most popular style for
lineworkers. A reinforced thumb strap makes this design our
most durable. The 4.5" and 6.5" lined split leather cuff
offers different degrees of arm protection (split leather
gloves have fabric cuff). Elastic back adds comfort and
prevents slipping. For extra heavy duty applications, heavy
(5 to 5.5 oz.) buckskin leather is offered.
High-Voltage Leather Protectors
The Kunz Glove Company set a goal to develop a protector
that would increase hand mobility. One that would reduce
hand stress, discomfort and fatigue while maintaining the
required mechanical protection and fit for maximum life and
safety. The result is our "free-thumb" high-performance
protector.
Cowhide Protectors - Our most popular and most
durable. Specially tanned 2.75 oz. to 3.5 oz. weight grain
leather is uniform, soft and pliable. Flexible and
long-wearing qualities make these ideal for heavy wear. Our
bucktan and cream-colored cowhide provide a
traditional-feel, while the buffed-red cowhide is tanned to
be more flexible.
Buckskin Protectors - Made from elk or deerskin,
buckskin is often preferred for its more supple feel and
durability. Better for cold and/or wet weather conditions.
Although lighter in weight, these protectors offer many of
the same qualities which made our Kunz buckskin work gloves
famous.
Goatskin Protectors - Lightweight and flexible,
goatskin offers the best dexterity. This supple, cream or
pearl-colored leather returns to its original texture after
exposure to moisture.

Fall Arrest Harnesses
Lewis Manufacturing Company now offers a full line of
fall arrest harnesses constructed of lighter weight high
visibility yellow nylon webbing improving durability and
safety in the oilfield. The webbing is treated for UV light
resistance. To improve leg strap comfort during long term
use, a “rappelling-style” leg strap has been developed that
keeps legs at proper angles for sustained use.

BASHLIN INDUSTRIES
RETRACTABLE LIFELINES
Bashlin offers a complete line of retractable lifelines
for all of your work needs. The "B110" series features an
aluminum housing while the "B120" series has a more durable
steel housing. Both of these units utilize wire or kevlar
rope. The "B130W" series uses flat strap polyester webbing.
The snap hook features a shock load indicator to help
determine when the device should be removed form service.
RESCUE WINCH
The rescue winch incorporates the fall arrest feature of
a retractable lifeline with the added ability to raise or
lower an individual if necessary. This unit may be used on a
tripod, wall mount davit system, or a portable davit arm.
TRIPODS
Bashlin offers rugged aluminum alloy tripods with
skidpads on the feet and 5'8" anchor bolts in the head. This
unit is static tested to 3000 lb and has a rated capacity of
300 lb. It is available in 7' and 9' heights.
Rescue Cradle
Bashlin's Cradle is an NFPA certified harness designed
especially for rescue and used in conjunction with the
H.E.L.P. harness. It is a "one size fits most" design with
all forged hardware.

683 "X" Series Body Harness
The 683 "X" is Bashlin's premier body harness. Originally
designed for the utility industry, this harness sets the
standard for comfort, flexibility and ease of use. The
hardware is low on the waist, and a loop is in the front for
rescue or work positioning. Pass through friction buckles
are standard. This is a sized harness. Proper sizing is
required for proper performance.
662 SERIES "H" STYLE
The 662 Series is a fully adjustable, one size fits most
full body harness, in the "H" style. Size XL and larger are
available. This harness also has a dorsal seat strap and
10,000 lb test web. The full range of back attachment

Meet

have a superior finish. Available in two V-Gard cap styles,
an American flag design with stars and stripes on each side

a white helmet.
Topgard® Caps and Hats
SEI
Certified and meets or exceeds the applicable requirements
for a Type I helmet (top impact) as outlined in ANSI Z89.1
2003, Class E (electrical-high voltage) and G
(electrical-low voltage). Lightweight, durable Topgard
slotted caps and non-slotted hats are built for use by
utilities and other industries where head protection from
falling objects is necessary along with good dielectric
properties (non-conduction of electrical current). Limited
resistance to top impact or penetration is retained through
a wide range of temperatures. Not designed to protect
against lateral blows from the front, side or rear. MSA's
Vanguard Type II protective helmets must be used if lateral
protection is desired.

Economuff™ and
Multi-Position Muff
All hearing protection is tested
according to ANSI S3.19-1974 standards. The lightweight,
eight ounce Economuff model features comfortable ear pads
that ensure all-day wearing without fatigue and the durable
design provides protection in tough, dirty environments. The
Multi-Position muff has all of the features as our Economuff
model, plus it incorporates a support strap used when
wearing the muff behind the head or under the chin. The NRR
is also much higher than the Economuff unit at 24 dB.

Tri-Seal Reusable Silicone Ear Plugs
All hearing protection is tested according to ANSI
S3.19-1974 standards. Ruggedly designed of soft, comfortable
silicone, these reusable ear plugs are easy to insert in the
ear, economical and offer protection comparable to many MSA
ear muffs. Tri-Seal plugs (NRR - 25) are available in corded
and uncorded versions in dispenser boxes of 100 individually
packaged pairs. Also available in the corded version as one

Lanyards

Slow-Stop™ Lanyard provides a shock absorbing fall arrest
that meets ANSI Drop Standard Z-359. Our Single and Dual
Positioning Retractable Lanyards feature elasticized
interiors which draw slack out of the lanyard while in use.
This minimizes trip hazard associated with a slack lanyard.
